Our story

Why we start private label

A custom formula takes time we would rather spend learning from surfers in the water. So launch is a private label stick with test files we verify before a single unit ships. Once the glide and four-hour hold brief is proven with real sessions, we move to a formula locked to our own spec. The test file and the formula are the moat, not the label.

Saltblock exists because every reef-safe stick on the shelf asks surfers to reapply mid-session, which nobody does when the set is good. We built the brand around a single number, four hours, and around a test file that proves it before we make the claim. We start with private label to learn from real surfers in Hawaii, California and Australia fast, then lock a custom formula to our own water-resistance and glide brief, and the test file plus the formula become the moat.

Questions

Anything else? Join the list and ask us directly.

Does four hours mean I never reapply?

No. The stick carries an SPF 50 claim with 80-minute water resistance, which is what the test file supports. Four hours is the session we built the format and the base for. Reapply after toweling off, heavy sweating, or a long hold underwater.

What is in it?

Non-nano zinc oxide in a water-resistant base, untinted and fragrance-free. The full ingredient list goes on this page and on the stick before launch. If a batch changes, the list changes with it.

Why private label first?

It gets a tested stick into real surfers' hands fast and tells us where the glide and hold fall short. The custom formula follows once that brief is proven, and we say plainly which version you are buying.

Is it reef-safe?

It uses a non-nano mineral filter and contains no oxybenzone or octinoxate. Reef-safe is a contested term across jurisdictions, so we list ingredients rather than lean on the phrase alone.

Will it leave a white cast?

Untinted non-nano zinc will show on some skin tones. That is a known tradeoff of this launch formula, and it is on the list for the custom formula brief. We will not claim otherwise.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes, a 24-unit case of singles for surf shops and board-rental operators at standard trade margin. Email us from a shop address and we will send terms and the test file.
