Why a cone with a scale inside
Most home brewers already own a gooseneck kettle and buy whole beans from a local roaster. What they lack is a way to make the same cup twice without moving between a scale and a dripper. Brewscale merges the two into a single ceramic object, made in Portugal, so the weight is read where the pour happens. The V1 spec, bill of materials and prototype path are fixed before any tooling spend, and we sell direct until the unit economics hold.
Brewscale started with a simple irritation: a gooseneck kettle in one hand, a scale under the carafe, and a phone timer competing for attention. The answer was to put the weighing where the brewing happens, a load cell inside a ceramic cone that reads coffee and water in the same place you pour. The ceramic is made in Portugal, close to the first customers in Lisbon and Porto, so the object stays repairable and the gasket stays replaceable rather than the whole thing becoming landfill.
